Tomorrow I'm going to attempt bagels for the first time. This should be interesting.

On Tuesday I get to attend my first fencing class with Sister. I asked if I should arrived dressed as Arol Flynn, or if we should just wait until the instructor says "Let's begin" and then we attack each other with realistic looking foam knives. It's the nightmare scenario that Mother has, knowing that Sister and I will be in any class together that involves weaponry. Maybe we should look into archery classes.

The fencing class will make me slightly late for the costumer's group meetup for a month, but that's a fair enough trade. I have a bag of stuff cleared out from the costume closet to see if anyone wants some of it at the meetup. Mostly old costumes and yardage that is of no use to us but might work for mockups for someone else. We have a box full of costume stuff to sell on ebay, maybe make some pizza money from obsolete goth and renfest ware.

Are you taking the basics class through Lawrence Fencing Club/Rec Ctr then (it lasts about a month and is Tuesday nights)?
If so- I'll see you there. I signed up before Xmas and have ben excited to go back.

Yep, that's it. Cool, I'll get to see one of my LJ friends once a week!

I'm sorely tempted to bring my cavalier hat. I will resist, you never know if the instructor has a sense of humor.

Man, I haven't made bagels for, oh, 15 years or more. They're a lot of fun, but time consuming if you do it right (boil, broil and bake).

Have fun buckling yer swash (not a euphemism).
