I've started my latest baking experiment, ciabatta dough (usual process) but instead of struggling with the sticky dough quickly on a floured surface, I liberally oiled up a baking sheet and dumped the dough on there. After shaping I moved it to a lightly greased piece of parchment, so far the only results have been that it doesn't stick to my hands nearly as bad, and the dough maintains a certain limit to how far it will spread since it has no adhesion to the parchment. I suspect it will puff up better than the last batch, and perhaps brown better with the complete olive oil coverage. I'll also dimple the dough right before baking on one loaf, see how that works.

Still not positive on when I'll show up to the costuming meetup, at this point it looks like I'll be about half an hour late. But I should be bringing the usual offering of bread for the collective.

Edit-the oil covered dough limits the shaping, but it seems to be working well. I may have come upon my new form of loaf shaping for the ciabatta. And it protects the dough, so no drying out while waiting for the oven to heat up, or the previous loaf to finish baking.
