in brief... [Nov. 10th, 2007|07:30 pm]

Got the 26" RCA, in many ways (besides the cost) I'm glad we went with a 26" rather than 32". It's attached to a wall mount higher than the old tv, out of kid reach and easy to access the cables since you can swing it out and around. It even appears to be picking up all the cable channels without the box, so fewer remotes are needed. Pics will be posted once we are done arranging that corner of the room. It also displaces the Pit of Despair since there is nothing to really keep the kids out of, although I'll still put the fencing across the bottom couple of shelves so they don't climb.

Now that I've blown a good chunk of my hobby money, the rest goes toward the debt we have. I had a rule about hobby money being spent on fun stuff and not blowing household money on things like a better TV unless it's a tax return surplus gift for the family. Now I've spent the big chunk of money I made with a few recent sales, so full speed ahead on attacking the debt.

Note to people buying flatscreens-remember, the mounting costs a bunch of money too. I got a minor surprise when I started shopping and discovered that wall mounts run about $50-75 for a simple wall mount that just swivels up and down, ones that actually swing out from the wall run $100+.
