Today I dressed Kiyan up in his renfest outfit for the preschool Halloween stuff in the morning, Pari couldn't wear a costume during the day so after picking her up from school we went home for a bit, then went to JCCC so we could join up with Marz to trick-or-treat at a few offices at the college. Then we hit downtown Lawrence so the kids could panhandle the downtown businesses. Dinner at Pepper Jack Grill, then home to carve a pumpkin and hand out the candy. Pari designed the face on the jack-o-lantern, I did the cutting (imagine trying to carve with a nearly 3 and 6 year old wanting to get in your way constantly, and Pari trying to put the pieces back in the pumpkin as I went.
Downtown trick or treating.
The Pari Pumpkin of Doom!
It took some effort to photograph the pumpkin, since Kiyan kept getting in the way of what should have been a quick shot.
And a belated Happy Birthday to my mother, who is somehow never surprised nor upset when I forget to call her before her birthday is past. I think she's amazed if I remember to call before the end of October.
