Looks like Home Depot is out of 1"x2"x8' select pine at the moment, but they had 6' so the first stage will be to make a shelf that spans across the soffits over the kitchen entrance. I'll check back in a couple days for the 8" lengths, it doesn't matter that much what order the shelves go up if they eventually do go up. So later today or tomorrow I'll make a rectangle about 63"x11" out of the 1"x2" boards, span the kitchen with them, cut on3 of the 1"x12" boards to length and secure it on top. Another board so stuff doesn't fall out the back will be in order, I think. I suspect the project can be done in under 2 hours.
