kitchen shelving... [Jul. 28th, 2007|01:53 pm]

In addition to clearing out assorted junk in the kitchen to make more space, I've decided to add a full circle (square actually) of shelving around the kitchen just above the cabinets. Some of you may remember the shelf I added against the back wall of the kitchen several years ago, which is where I store the flour and sugar, the idea is to extend this shelf around the entire kitchen against the sofit above the cabinets, which is wasted space. Lucky for me I have most of the wood I'll need already from a previous shelf project in another room, making an 11" deep shelf. All I'll need to buy will be 1"x2" for the framing, maybe more screws to hold it together. This should allow us to clear off the counters and have a much less cluttered kitchen. And I can do the project in stages, after it's all up I'll see if we have any more of the brown paint used in the kitchen to make the shelving blend in.
