The Struan dough is in the cold oven with a bowl of hot water for the next 2 hours. I always find it humorous when a recipe calls for a tablespoon of instant yeast, a teaspoon will work just fine and only takes a bit longer. I'm working on translating the recipe into my own methodology, meaning unrefined sugar instead of honey (just easier to deal with than honey and the taste is about the same). The dough turned out nicely on the first try, and the volume measurements turned out to an even pound so I don't have too much tinkering to do with the flour. I'm looking forward to seeing how this one turns out, several people said it makes the best toast.

Another interesting item someone pointed out that Cuisinart is marketing a counter top oven lined with stone material so it replicates a stone oven, which would be tempting except that it's less than a square foot in size. I really don't want to eat up counter space for something that would probably be about the size of my toaster oven.

I took Pari in for a strep test, she has a low grade fever and sore throat so I took her in and get to wait for a result before I find out about if she needs meds and when she goes back to school.

I got the recipe off thefreshloaf.com, not sure whose recipe it was.

How the hell can someone actually write a cookbook and not know that you only need a teaspoon of yeast? Damn. Even I figured it out after baking for a year or so.
