Thai iced tea...... [Oct. 7th, 2002|11:15 pm]
Verminius Rex
I went to Zenzero on Saturday with geekmom and radcliffe, and we had Thai iced tea. I know where to get the iced tea, the mystery was what they added to it to make it so rich and yummy. Turns out that it was sweetened condensed milk, which I think would also be good in chai. Today I made the first batch, testing out ratios. I think that I am very close. It passed the taste test warm, and is in the fridge to see how it tastes tomorrow.

SWEET!

And I have red velvet fur trimmed beaded oversleeves ;-) or at least, I will soon, they are taking a while. I look forward to a taste test when you have a chance!

Brew the tea for a long time - boil a bunch of tea bags for 15 minutes or so. This reduces the tea and gives it a very strong flavor. The Condensed milk is used to give the tea a strong milk flavor without watering it down. Yum. I love Thai Tea.
