After a trip to get Kiyan to sleep, I'm about to put 2 loaves of sourdough in the oven. I'll try slightly different glazes today, get some pretty results I hope. If it has the same oven spring as last time, these loaves are gonna be huge. And the mixer held about 4.5 lb of dough without much complaining last night. I did have to switch from the roller to the dough hook, but it worked. I'll try another loaf's worth of dough in a later batch, and keep trying to max it out. The manual says it can do 15 lbs of dough, we'll see if it really can. I suspect that I'd have to let it run for a long time for that much dough to knead properly.

Kiyan's speech therapy went well, he has another session next week then 2 weeks without due to the therapist being out of town one week (Hawaii, lucky her) and conferences the next. Kiyan is improving, but like Pari the process is slow.

I'm wondering if diet soda gives me headaches, they give headaches to Marz unless they are sweetened with splenda. I'll have to try some soda free days and find out. Pity, I really liked diet Dr Pepper Berries and Cream.

Loaf #1 of 2 is out, and let's hear it for sourdough oven spring. Damn, it looks good.

*sigh* one of the unfortunate side effects of neutra sweet! Fortunately, the soda industry is picking up on usage of sucralose and will use it more as the public calls for it.

Do you drink sodas with caffeine? If so, going soda-free might give you caffeine withdrawal headaches, and then you won't know if it's the soda or not. Body chemistry is annoying.

I know it's not the caffeine because I've downed a half pot of tea already today. I can suffer caffeine withdrawal if I don't wean myself, but I think this is different.
