Laundry, baking, cleaning... [Dec. 23rd, 2006|02:26 pm]
Verminius Rex
Sister is good enough to let me stop by every 1.5 hours to switch out loads and bring the clean home. Looks like 2-3 more loads and a weeks' worth of laundry is done, and we are good through Wednesday when repair guy shows (should I do another game of Guess When the Repair Guy Shows?)

I did 3 batches of dough last night, 2 wheat and one rye. After kneading I just tossed them into ziplock bags for proofing. All 3 bags puffed up from released gasses, but the rye was ready to burst. It let out quite an audible "POP" when opened. Right now that dough is bench proofing and will hit the oven in about 15 minutes, in the form of 2 Italian loaves. The wheat I'll do up later today.

I'm also working on a sweet potato challah, probably tomorrow or next day. Sweet potato is done and waiting it's final fate, recipe is written out and modified. After sweet potato challah I think focaccia breads will make an appearance for a bit.
