the newly renamed Ribbon Jerkin Project progress report... [Jun. 18th, 2004|12:18 am]

I really like the way the ribbon looks so far, but my God, it eats up ribbon yardage. I did epilettes and collar last night, and started on the back tonight. I have to put on all the navy ribbon before starting on the burgundy, and I ran out a little past halfway on the left to right slant. Luckily, it's a common brand of ribbon available at several places in town, so tomorrow I'll get several spools of both colors. The 1/4" ribbon is perfect to sew on, one stitch down the middle and it's done. Sewing on the bias is a little bit annoying, but not unbearable. I figure the project will be done on schedule, with an hour or two of work each night to put on the ribbon then assemble the garment.

Tomorrow is a cheap lunch with friends downtown. That should be fun.

And my parents will be out here for a few days around the 4th of July. Dad's real good about working out visits to coincide with business trips. I salute the man who can get his company to finance his trip to visit the kids. And in case I forget to call Sunday, happy Father's Day, Dad.

(Pssst! Epilette has to do with hair removal. Epaulette is a shoulder ornamentation.)

And you without the hair, I think, would be rather odd. I just can't bring myself to imagine it.

Thanks for the spelling correction. I admit, I 'm at a loss without a spellcheck. And I rarely bother to spellcheck my lj entries.

I tried hard not to, but all I could think about was that awful Epilady from back in the day...
