need sleep....home improvement....i'm in hell..... [May. 11th, 2004|07:23 pm]

Pari's teething again. Children have too many teeth. She went to sleep late, woke up during the night, and I am running on fumes. Need a solid night's sleep.

As many of you saw from Marz's journal, the fridge was open all night. Most of the stuff is ok, but the top two shelves were heated to HOT by the two bulbs in the top of the fridge. We had to toss a bunch of stuff, but nothing we got from the parent sponsored Sam's Club visit yesterday. I still have to clean melted butter off some shelves.

Sister and Mom watched Pari for most of the day while Dad and I installed a new side door and screen door. It's mostly done, only trim and a few finishing touches before repainting. It involved some major repairs to the threshold, carried out by Dad while I ran up and down the basement stairs to cut wood in the shop or switch out batteries between the charger and the drill.

Tomorrow we will finish the door and probably go to Sam's Club for laminate flooring (it was cheapest there, about $1.19/sq ft). We should have gotten it today, but most of the day was eaten up dealing with the door.

I am tired. I want a shower, a clean house, and a good nap.

Oh bummer. Sorry about the fridge thing. That really sucks.

Only lost a few things, mostly an inconvenience rather than a tragedy. I'm glad it wasn't any of the stuff bought at Sams Club that night.
