|Cooking projects of the moment...

Yesterday we brined and cooked a turkey. We carved the bird and stashed the meat for the cold icy spell that's about to hit. I then tossed the carcass and bits into a stock pot and boiled it for awhile, then strained the broth it made. There was more broth than I wanted to store, so I brought it to a boil and reduced it until I had half as much but twice as strong. Today I made some noodles, which will dry overnight and then become part of turkey noodle soup tomorrow. No meat probably, just the broth, veggies and noodles. Maybe add some meat, if there is any left after our constant snacking.|
I was victorious on the hunt for ice melt today. Now we are ready for the expected freezing rain. I saw several space heaters that looked like they would be good for downstairs, but I don't know if any of them would not trip the circuit breaker. We had that problem in the past, too much juice being used in the tv room. I think the problem was that the heater was an older model. They were all sold out, so the point is moot.
Soon the potatos will be done, then it's turkey and gravy for dinner.
