The hardest part about planning the zombie walk this year is knowing I have last year's results as a comparison. I'm getting over the idea that it's a competition to make everything bigger and better or I somehow lose. The goal is to make sure everything goes the best it can, and work towards establishing the Lawrence Zombie Walk as a nonprofit.|
Today the walk got another sponsor check, event insurance is covered and I'm hoping the banner displaying the sponsors is also paid for. Last year I was able to cover the shirts but I'm thinking they'll have to cover their own cost through sales since I'm upping the number from 75 to maybe 200-300, depending on price. I'd still rather run out than have too many left over.
I'm most excited that the teen coordinator at the public library is going to have a zombie clinic to gore up kids before the walk, although I did convince her to put the blood booth outside or there would be splatter all over the library. It's time for me to get the press release done, spread around some posters and figure out how many shirts to buy.
