Looks like my decision to pull the last 3 potato plants and work fertilizer into the soil was well timed, my seed potatoes came in the mail today! Not just the 20 I ordered, but a total of 28 starters which came close to filling my garden bed. Will be interesting making room for the fingerling potato starters due in early July (got 4 grids open, will probably spread the rest out in the tomato and the hoop house beds).

I swear that i have been through all the soil in that potato bed with my bare hands a half dozen times, either removing plants or mixing in fertilizer, but I keep finding some of the largest potatoes from this year's harvest when I think they are all gone. Wonder what I'd find if I could run the whole bed through a sifter.
