I'm dealing with severe lack of sleep after being up most of the night tracking the storm to make sure no tornadoes were going to hit. Very anticlimactic, but did have fun chatting with a friend and a cousin on FB. Also ordered 100 oyster mushroom plugs to infest the apple tree stump out front, either I'll have lots of oyster mushrooms next year or I just wasted $18.

I got the lumber and dirt to make a couple of 2'x2' raised beds that I'll stock with mint and other fun stuff, figured that was a good way to cover a couple bare spots on the lawn in front and back. Either the mint will colonize and come back, or I'll be replanting it every year.

Before next winter I need to decide a few things about the garden, mostly reinforcing the beds, the fate of the hoop house (keep or turn back into two separate raised beds), a system to solar sterilize one or two of the beds every year, weed control and permanent removal of scrub tree infestations.

Three of the Arapaho and at lest two of the Navajo blackberries are putting out leaves, leading me to have hope that the plants are doing well establishing in the beds. It will still be a year or two before I have bunches of blackberries, but it is a good start. The new apple and cherry trees are not obviously dead, but it will be awhile before they manifest signs of life.
