garden pests with prehensile thumbs.... [Apr. 10th, 2012|08:50 pm]
Verminius Rex
One of the kids (I suspect Pari but can't prove it) took some clippers and cut up one of my Arapaho blackberry starters. A firm talking has been given, we'll see if the damaged plant lives or not.

Various plants are coming up in the garden, on Saturday I may hit a friends farm and see about getting some fence scraps for a cucumber trellis. I also have a home for the apple wood, which I'll probably drop off tomorrow. I have some pumpkin seeds to put in the ground tomorrow, we'll see if this time they survive.

Jealous of your earlier plant times! I'm having to settle for my broccoli, onions, garlic and beets for now. Although my pepper and tomato starts are now a foot high, and spending the days outdoors. Come on spring!

It's cold enough that things are growing slowly, but this is the earliest start I've ever had on my garden. Usually planting isn't until after Mother's Day in May.
