Almost done with an urban fantasy anthology on eBook (and apparently Marz is acquainted with the editor through her writing contacts), while it was in the charger last night I started on a series that my friend Kelly loaned me (too lazy to look up her lj name and do the tag). Only 25 pages in and it looks promising, good writing style and I'm already curious about the characters and plot. I was slightly worried about this years 50 book challenge only because I'm slow to adopt new authors and only two of my regular authors had anything to release this year. So I'm nearly done with the second book and already started on the third, "Midnight Riot" by Ben Aaronovitch.

I have a good feeling about this year's 50 book challenge, but I realized that with eBooks and paperbacks costing an average of about $10 each, I'll need to borrow, use the library and include some public domain publications in the list or the challenge would run me several hundred dollars over the next year.
