baking rewards and book woes... [Aug. 16th, 2011|04:25 pm]

Pari and I got our checks in the mail for the county fair baking, I got $7 and she got $24. I think more may be coming to me from a different source for the champion bagels, we'll see.

Marz looked up my textbooks for the class (which I'll admit to forgetting about, between college being 15 years ago and most of my classes being fine arts and not requiring textbooks). Apparently I get to come up with another $200 or whatever for three textbooks. I forgot about the annoying textbook costs, and apparently the industry is fighting ebooks for textbooks because of possible pirating and more profit in paper books.

Costume group is in about 90 minutes, I even put together shiny objects and a project to work on. I don't think the cowprint pillow case really counts as a sewing project, the only reason I'd bring it is for a bag and I got that covered. Pari is playing Animal Crossing and trapping all the town residents into small areas by surrounding them with pits she's digging. It's keeping her amused, so I don't mind.

Good Lord, I just realized I need to pack kid lunches for tomorrow and find everyone's backpacks.

I have a dear friend (fairly new to the area) who mentioned to me on Sunday that she has yet to find *good* bagels here. So of course I mentioned you. So the next time you decide to bake and market bagels, let me know, please?

I can make them just about anytime, and I'll be in KC on Monday and Wednesday starting next week for my class. I'm doing them for $20 a dozen, if your friend would like to put in an order let me know what flavor and I can arrange a delivery time. My price will drop if I can find a cheaper source for my high gluten flour, which may happen after I check out a restaurant supply store in KC.

Ok I'll let her know. It's tarsa and I'd love to find a way to introduce her and Josie to more of my local friends.
