Got the backyard mowed finally, it's down to a normal level. The front yard grows slower so it can wait until next week (and when I refill the gas can).

I'm looking at another load of mulch in about 2 weeks to finish up the back yard, possibly a bit more if I want to do around some trees. I'm also going to remove some of the mulch piles I had put in for blackberries, something kills anything I plant near the old cottonwood stump and I don't feel like throwing any more money into that hole. I can recycle the mulch for the pumpkin corner, which I should also get set up this coming week for planting.

On Friday I picked my first green onion for use in my breakfast. Next year I'll have onions planted early so they are ready sooner. The walking onions should also be in full force when I plant this year's bulbs (hoping they produce the bulb-lets this year, that may be a second year sort of thing).
