I'm trying a sorta diet, it's more about portion control than anything. We'll see how this works, my guess is I'll drop about 10 lbs if it just keeps me from snacking between meals. |
One of my kitchen knives needs to find a new home. I only have so much space on my magnetic holder, for some people having about 20 kitchen knives may seem extravagant but I like my kitchen cutlery. Except for this one. It's a Kiwi knife, but more like a slim chef's knife. I just don't like the way it feels, but it's a wonderfully sharp knife that would be great in someone else's kitchen. So if you are wanting a good sharp knife and live in town, let me know.
I'm nearly done with the latest CJ Cherryh book. The last chapter or two keeps getting interrupted by kids and such. I like stuff that's happening, but in the last couple of books I feel like not enough progress is ever made. You could combine what happens in the last 3 books into one volume for the right amount of series progression. I don't want to feel like I'm reading a series out of habit or a sense of obligation. I dropped Terry Goodkind for a similar reason.
I did my annual cleaning of the wallet, removed two old credit cards that were expired and didn't have replacements (paypal and an old bank card), two old college ID's (still have my original KUID from 1988, and my JCCC ID which hasn't had any use in years), and random rewards cards and punch cards from stores and eateries. I'll put a few of the eatery cards to good use with friends, others I don't feel like buying another 10 loaves to get one free when I bake most of my own bread.
Still waiting for a clear day to finish the rabbit fence, put in some tomatoes and peppers, and start the hoop house project. I currently hear thunder, which I hope passes over so I can go swimming with the kids tomorrow. Even at the indoor pool any lightning means they close it down.
And I'm looking at 11 episodes of Mythbusters from season 5 we haven't seen on Amazon on Demand. At $2/episode it's still cheaper than cable, and one of the few shows we would be watching on cable. Once we are caught up to current we may spend the $45 or whatever for the current season and watch them as they air.
