Got loads (literally) of laundry done, some books sold off, and when I returned home there was mail. Specifically some walking onions, which I had been expecting bulbs but they were plants averaging about 6" high, so I got those planted and watered. I may actually recolonize that bed before summer! I'm tempted to get even more bulbs so I have more in the ground to grow, rather than waiting for the bulbs to develop on top and plant them for next year. I look at them as a never ending source of green onions. |
I'm thinking the other bed may be for garlic and herbs, I can put the blueberries in front. I suspect they may not work out and I'll just pull them up in a couple years, but it's worth a try.
So far the weather is still pleasant and my weekend sunburn is fading away. Still don't plan to be outside for very long this week, maybe just quick jobs like part of the ever-looming rabbit fence project. All I need to do is unroll a 50 foot section of poultry wire and zip tie it to the chain link fence, then start working on the rest in a couple days. Maybe when Kiyan is out back playing this afternoon.
