Last night I had some new food items, for which I get April credit on my "New Food Every Month" goal for the year. It included (and is probably misspelled)|
fried artichoke with auoi
chicken with local mushrooms
beef over polenta
And this morning I made eggs benedict, the first time in about 10 years I attempted it. Overall it was pretty good (English muffin, turkey bacon, poached eggs and a simple hollandaise sauce. I'll play around with the recipe in the future. Even Pari liked and ate it, although I served a deconstructed version to Kiyan.
And this morning I made coffee for Marz in our new french press, which is the exact same size as an 8 cup Bodum press but is all stainless steel and made by Coleman for camping. This should prevent the bimonthly breaking of a glass press. The filter on the plunger was not the tightest, so I swapped out the one from the broken Bodum press and it was a perfect fit.
