Sweet, after finishing "Tiassa" this morning I got Jim Butcher's "Side Jobs" in the mail this afternoon. Looks like my reading for the next couple days is taken care of (Side Jobs is a collection of stories, no need to plow through the whole thing in a day). |
It's nice out but I don't feel like doing garden work before dinner out with friends and spouse. Next week I need to get the rabbit fence up so it's ready for woodchip application (remember, the city woodchip sale is next Thursday, $10 a truckload).
As a minor side project I'm wondering how hard it would be to rig up a small patio-ish platform and an outside outlet by the back corner of the house. The main purpose of this would be for an electric smoker, which has both better temp control and insulation so I'd be able to smoke any time of year. I could also have it next to the house rather than halfway across the back yard, easier for tending. I would have gone electric when I got my smoker about 3 years ago but there is now power outlet outside and I didn't want to run a cord to the patio. It's a side project, but would mean I can do more smoking.
