Last night we got our federal tax return, so I applied a chunk of it so our remaining credit card is back to zero, and the VW is paid off. The payments take a few days to go through so technically it's "pending". Unfortunately most of the remaining money is spoken for in a variety of ways, but I still want to get a quote on a new AC for the house.

I took the kids to the Topeka Zoo today. We saw the baby hippo, only one tiger in the big cat exhibit by the elephants, and the apes weren't very active in the cold. The rain forest dome had bats hanging from the dome supports, and at the very top where there is a vent was a furball that was a sleeping sloth, and moving much faster was an anteater (which I didn't realize could climb to the top of a 30' high dome). I suspect that the kids' favorite part were the burgers at the concession stand.

And I'm proud of the simple yet tasty dinner I made. Noodles with basil in the dough, cut spaghetti size. Mixed with a touch of pesto sauce (store purchased, still need to experiment with pesto sauces) and on top of that some veggies and white fish stir fried up with olive oil and a touch of salt. Simple yet tasty. Pari just had her noodles with some chicken broth, Kiyan just had his plain, but mine was sure tasty.

And I need to get to the library tonight and pick up this book they have on hold or I won't get it before it gets reshelved.
