I felt the need to snack so I did up a small bit of sushi rice and pulled out a press that makes cylinders about the size of a large thumb, rolling them in a bit of seasoning and salt. Next time I may try to do the seasoned spam to put in the middle for my own version of spam sushi, but I lack rice wine darn it. |
I find it strange to think that my next culinary experiment is going to be a spam sushi. I think a trip to the asian market for rice wine is going to be scheduled for Monday, weather permitting. I figure that I'll put a frenchfry-sized strip of marinaded and seared spam in the middle of a rice cylinder and wrap a touch of nori around it. Pics to follow when I have the needed ingredients.
