I have begun my war on the costume closet. I figure that for the future the most efficient method of organization is for each of us to have our own bins of costumes (I'm assuming I'll be the only one with more than one bin), and maybe a few for accessories like hats and footwear. Some hardcore culling of half finished projects, experiments and ugly things made of polyester cleared out much space. I have a handful of items to run a dust rag over and see if I can get a few bucks from Arizona Trading Co downtown, a few faire items to see if a friend wants them (got some kid faire clothing I'd trade for a few bucks if there are any local rennies with toddlers at the moment).

Space is opening up in the craft room as things find their proper place. I need to make a hat rack system for some of the more delicate hats, possibly for my costume weaponry too. Getting those out of the way will open up yet more floorspace. And I'll be able to find costume stuff without excavating massive piles of clothing (you would not believe what I had to dig through to find the store purchased pirate outfit for a zoo trip tomorrow with the kids, the "Boo at the Zoo" in Topeka.)

Probably tomorrow I'll draft up the patterns for the kid's pirate coats. I'll make them a bit large in the hopes of them getting a couple years of use. The big question is if I want to do buttons on the coats or not, they'd be nonfunctional but add much to the look.

I figured out a use for the two larger rubbermaids you showed me today, so I'll take them if you're still looking to get rid of them.

Related, I finally found 18 gallon rubbermaids at Home Despot. They even seemed to be the standard design without odd handles.
