Great, the garbage disposal stopped working. No tripped breaker, no sound, nothing. Just doesn't work. I'll call the plumber, since it should still be under warranty. He installed it maybe a year ago. But digging all that stuff out of the disposal by hand is just gross. Plus having your hand inside something that grinds down organic matter, never a pleasant feeling even when it's off. And I checked that switch every 15 seconds while my hand was inside to make sure something hadn't turned it to the "on" position while I was working on it, alone in the house.

Ditto, if you haven't pushed the reset switch on the disposal, check that first, especially before you start putting your hand down in the disposal.

If you do feel the need to put your hand in the disposal, unplug it.

And you can also check the outlet to narrow it down. Even if the breaker didn't trip, the outlet could still have stopped working. We had to fix a faulty outlet in the kids room that made all the electricity quit working in their room, the hallway and their bathroom without a breaker trip.

Yep, all I had to do was push the little button. Let's see if I remember it next time there's an issue.

Well, if you remember to post that the disposal isn't working, then the internet will remind you about that reset button.

I should post pictures of my circular saw and the case, see if anyone can figure out how to make it fit back in. I've had it for 10 years and always forget how to put it away. It's like a cruel puzzle, looks like it should go in one way but doesn't. Next time it fits, I'm taking a picture and putting it on flickr for future reference.
