damned ducks... [Jul. 8th, 2010|03:48 pm]
Verminius Rex
The zoo trip started with lunch, which the kids enjoyed despite Pari's repeated attempts to poach Kiyan's hot dog, and Kiyan's repeated successful attempts to poach my fries. It's a good zoo for a casual stroll, being not horribly large and generally flat.

While feeding ducks about halfway through, one of the rather aggressive ones was snapping at the food in Kiyan's hand, then snapped his face. There is now a bruise below his eye, and a small one on his eyelid. There appears to be no damage past emotional trauma and the visible bruise. So remember, beware the ducks. They can turn on you at any moment. They want those little food pellets, and will take you down to get them.

The rain didn't start until the drive home, so we only got wet on the walk in from the car.

My mom still tells a story about my 2-year-old brother in the same situation at the phoenix zoo . . . it will eventually get funny.
