cow print quilt project... [Jun. 18th, 2010|07:49 pm]

My design for a quilt using alternating strips of black and cowprint.

I'm starting my first real quilt! (Did something that could vaguely be called a quilt while I was a textile student, this is going to be a real functional quilt). It will be alternating strips of black twill and the lovely cow print that I used for the Cowmono and Samurai Moo projects. When finished it'll be about 100x100 inches. The size and design was partially chosen by the fact that i had already cut a whole stack of black strips for some project awhile ago, those and the pile of scraps from the cow print projects should provide enough materials.

So I'll be making 25 squares, each made with five strips of fabric, 20x20 inches each. 125 strips 5x21 inches. It shouldn't take too long, and I'll be supervising Pari working on some of her quilting projects at the same time.

Pardon the crappy pic, it was easier to just hold up the graph paper to the web cam than to actually scan it in.
