Today Pari and I made biscotti (Pooch's recipe, finally after having it for like 2 years) which is pretty good. I'm going to try a lemon variety soon. Pari is thinking it'll be a good 4H recipe for the county fair. |
This afternoon we went to open gym where we met up with stuology and family, afterwards we migrated over to their house and ordered Chinese. The kids enjoyed 2 additional hours rampaging together, and we enjoyed the adult company.
Tonight I drop the VW off at the mechanics for some minor work, so I'll be using Sister's car for the day. I'm really glad the mechanic is within walking distance.
This week I'll be working on the "old dough" bread making method, where you use some dough from the previous day's loaves as the yeast source. After making and raising the dough, you put some aside for tomorrow's loaves. Unlike most preferments, this kind has salt and everything else in it because it is, actually, just finished bread dough. I have the preferment to make up the first batch done, so I can make the first loaves tomorrow after making up and fridging the dough tonight.
