Dad has added a third light to the craft room, so it's nice and bright down there. Kiyan was busy in the living room so I was able to tear down the last of the drywall ceiling and the wallboard, meaning that one more trip to the dumpster and the downstairs is effectively demolished from a "haul it to the dumpster" point of view. There are still studs to be removed and the boards recycled or tossed, but with the majority of the trash done I can use the dumpster for the brush pile in back and have it hauled away sometime next week. |
Talking with Dad about what to do with the kitchen makes me realize how small our kitchen really is. I'd love to move the stairs and open it up, but the layout of the house doesn't make that easy. I'd love stainless steel counters like you find in restaurants, simple cabinets and above all more space. We'll see what happens in the future, for now it's all about the basement.
Tomorrow morning Sister and I are hitting some sort of metaphysical fest in Topeka because her massage therapist will be there. We'll both get deep tissue massages, she'll buy some makeup while I browse crystals that I won't buy, and be home by noon. We refer to it as our Crystal Fest trip, because that's shorter than whatever it's really called. Shorter than the word metaphysical even.
I'm thinking those drumsticks may meet their fate on the grill tonight if the weather remains mild enough. I'm not worried about it being too cold for the grill as much as too cold for me to stand out beside the grill.
I think the only way we'd get more kitchen is if we built it onto the back of the house.
I'm hoping for advancements in affordable blackhole technology.
If you all find it let me know. Our galley kitchen could really use it.
Dood.. deep tissue massages? How much do they cost? I am way interested.
No clue how much, I'm just going with my sister.
My sister said it's $1/minute. We'll see how many minutes I feel like paying for.
Look up metaphysical festival in Topeka and you'll find info on it.
Kay, thanks. I'll see if I have time to make out out there.
