I'm a stay at home dad, jeans and tshirts are my uniform. Years in the screen printing industry has taken away most of my desire for special tshirts (except the Monroeville Zombies hockey jersey I want for my 40th birthday, of course), so my tshirt collection has a slow rollover. Get a new one, dispose of the novelty print tshirt that I wear the least. |
Since last year I've slowly been picking up tshirts that I plan to wear at Naka Kon, the KC anime convention. This includes the Frosted Flakes shirt with Tony the Tiger and the text in (what I'm told) is kanji, and my Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Tonight while at Wal-Mart to pick up a few items, I found a yellow shirt with Mario riding Yoshi, and the text is in (I assume) Japanese. And they had one in my size. So now I have another Naka-Kon shirt, and must pick out one to cull. I'm much more excited about this than I should be.
Trick or treating downtown last night went well, although you could tell when the kids were out of energy. They made it from 9th down to almost sixth, across the street and back past 8th when they really started to drag. The haul was pretty good. We got home in time to pass out candy, Pari helped and saw several people from school she knew. I was able to dig up Corpse Bride to put on the tv, both as background noise, entertainment, and as a sort of timer. When the movie is over, it's getting close to shutdown time. I just wish I could have found Nightmare Before Christmas, too.
