I'm entering crunch time to get my visuals for the kimono panel I'm doing next weekend at the convention. I think I figured out how to simplify it somewhat for the visuals, which is a big plus. I still need to toss together a demo unit to show how to do the fitting part. The actual construction of these part-kimonos shouldn't take long, considering that I did the pinstripe kimono last year in under 3 hours from cutting fabric until it was completed.|
Marz is nearly done with the first week of the 19 days of fasting (Bahai thing), the weekends are more difficult due to the simple fact that she's home and I have to watch my cooking during the daylight hours. Nothing is more rude than filling the house with the smell of cooking food, as I discovered long ago when I popped a batch of chocolate chip cookies into the oven during the day while she was fasting. She gets up early enough for a big breakfast before sunup, and every Bahai with internet knows where to find the official time for sunset. She apparently likes my chili for breakfast, so another batch of that gets whipped up tonight.
Next week will be interesting, on Friday I have to make it to the convention but work it around Marz's work schedule and dealing with the kids. Guess the first thing to do is find out when I'm committed to the hallway costume judging so I can base arrival time partially on that.
