The braces are off. I'd post before and after pictures, but who really wants to see a closeup of someone's mouth? Ick. But now the teeth are straight, and I get my retainer tomorrow (some sort of heavier-duty one they make in-house, so I don't have to wait until next week.) I got a mug with balloons, candy and a gift certificate for a photo portrait to show off my new smile, so I rejoined radcliffe, who was watching Pari, we ate some of the candy while watching a Buffy DVD, and then went out for a quick burger, the first meal that I have eaten braces-free.

Total time in braces-1 year 8 months, exactly.

No more complaining about the braces. Tomorrow, you'll hear what I have to say about retainers.

Spent most of the evening with wife and child at home watching the first 4 episodes of 3rd season Buffy on DVD, newly arrived on Tuesday, but unable to be watched until today. One episode was totally new to me, the rest I had only seen in bits and pieces. Life is good.

just don't wrap it up in a napkin at a fast food restaurant and throw it away like the rest of us. :)

uh, the rest of us? uh, i've never done that. nope. uh-uh. haven't left it on an airplane, either.

-- at least they embed your name in them now, so they are easier to find when sorting through the trash. if you're the kind of person who ends up doing that.

Re:

I unearthed mine in my parents basement a few months ago and returned it to them with a note; "Thanks for my healthy teeth!". Needless to say, they weren't overly thrilled with the gift. LOL
