Got a batch of Alton Brown's turkey brine done up and in the fridge, tonight I'll clear the space so that the turkey can brine until I cook it sometime on Monday. I need to find another digital probe thermometer, for some reason the in-oven ones just don't last long in my household.|
For some reason I'm wanting to try a visual experiment, making a handprint in egg wash on a loaf of bread to see how it looks after baking. On another one, same thing in an egg starch paste that suppresses browning of the crust. Could be some cool pics, although how I'd slash the loaf and keep the handprint intact is beyond me.
