Ha! [Aug. 21st, 2008|08:57 am]

I was watching "It's Me or the Dog", the UK predecessor to the US "Dog Whisperer". Pretty much the same program except instead of a tiny Hispanic man with a calming demeanor it's a Brit woman with a Betty Paige haircut who dresses like a dominatrix with a calming yet forceful demeanor.

She went to a woman's home, where there were 32 huskies. Yes, 32. Inside. It looked like a sea of fur that you just wanted to hug. She was taking them out for a version of sledding, where she hooked the dogs up to an ATV. It seemed odd, but then I realized it's perfect. Wheels, has it's own steering and breaks, and the ability to get home under it's own power if you have a canine flat, I suppose.

I don't get a cat or dog because cleaning up after small caged animals is enough of a hassle. Can you imagine 32 dogs? Better yet, can you imagine breaking into a home, flipping on a light and realizing that you are surrounded by 32 dogs? (Although if you are surrounded by 32 huskies, you could probably pet your way out of the house. Not the best guard dogs, a bit too friendly for the ultimate home protection.)

Thats why you need 32 dogs of any of the leg bumper varieties. Imagine the embarrassment of a would be thief being caught by the cops buried in 32 furry shapes banging away on any part of the human anatomy they can latch onto. *snicker*

I can't imagine having even one of any long-haired or shedding breed, much less 32!

I have 3-9 pit bulls here at any given time, and a thundering herd galloping through the house is quite enough, thank you. Fur everywhere would be a deal-breaker for me, I can't stand messes!
